NAMA housing for social housing

The Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Community & Local Government, Jan O’Sullivan, told Dessie Ellis (SF, Dublin NW) that her department had been working with the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) and the Housing Agency to work toward the target of making available 2,000 NAMA units for social housing (Dail Eireann, Debates, 19th June 2012, 250).  Of the 2,000 units examined, 697 had been deemed unsuitable by housing authorities, while 344 had been withdrawn by property owners.  The rest were now being processed, with discussion and negotiation over 700.
