Paschal Donohue (FG, Dublin C) raised the continued delays in the regeneration of Dominick st in Dublin (Dail Eireann, Debates, 21st June 2012, 589-91).  Responding for the government, the Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government Jan O’Sullivan told him that €7m had been allocated in 2012 and she anticipated that demolition works would commence in some of the flat blocks later this year.  It was up to the city council to prepare a detailed regeneration plan and she expected that there would be considerable private sector interest in the commercial element of the project.  There was potential to involve approved housing bodies in the residential and community elements and to make some housing units available under the incremental purchase scheme.
