Tallaght drugs projects reprieve

The Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government, Jan O’Sullivan, told John McGuinness (FF, Carlow Kilkenny) that interim funding had been found to support the work of Tallaght projects against drugs (Dail Eireann, Debates, 6th June 2012, 383: for background and story, > OB30). South Dublin County Council had identified interim funding on a partnership basis with the Tallaght Local Drugs Task Force.  This was a once-off contribution that would allow the project continue while awaiting the report of the minister of state responsible for the drugs strategy on the review of funding and other structures.  The interim funding provided a further opportunity for the projects to source alternative funds or identify an alternative model for the delivery of services.
