2 News Pre-budget forum

The Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan, told Arthur Spring (Lab, Kerry N) that he had received a total of 540 pre-budget submissions this year (Dail Eireann, Debates, 4th December 2012, 175-6).  Later, she told Patrick Nulty (ind, Dublin W) that 35 organizations had been invited to attend the pre-budget forum on 12th October.  Those who did not attend on the day were Barnardos, Curam, National Association of Widows, Women’s Aid and Children’s Rights Alliance.  Six had asked for a meeting but were not invited: Retail Excellence Ireland, End Child Poverty Coalition, PACUB, Save Our Child Benefit, Home and Community Care Ireland and the Drinks Industry Group.  An expression of interest from the Retired Garda Association was noted.  Those who did attend were: Active Retirement Ireland, Age Action Ireland, Care Alliance Ireland, Carer’s Association, Congress Centres Network, Crosscare, Disability Federation of Ireland, FLAC, Inclusion Ireland, Irish Countrywomen’s Association, Irish National Organization of the Unemployed, Irish Senior Citizens Parliament, National Federation of Pensioners Associations, National Women’s Council of Ireland, Older & Bolder, One Family, OPEN, Pavee Point, Retired Workers Committee, Saint Vincent de Paul, Social Justice Ireland, The Wheel, Threshold, TREOIR, Trustus we care, Unmarried and Separated Families of Ireland, Vincentian Partnership for Social Justice, ALONE, Centre for Independent Living, European Anti Poverty Network Ireland.
