2 News: social impact 2014 budget

The Minister for Social Protection, Joan Burton, told Caoimhghin O Caolain (SF, Cavan Monaghan) that her department was still assessing the social impact of the 2014 budget  (Dail Eireann, Debates, 16th January 2014, 795-8).  Asked about Social inclusion monitor, which reports on Irish progress toward the Europe 2020 targets on poverty, she told him that the inaugural issue, for 2011, had been published by the department in March 2013.  Unfortunately there had been a delay in publishing the results of the 2012 Survey of Income and Living Conditions and once these were available, they would publish Social inclusion monitor 2012.


Asked about the work of the technical advisory group in the department responsible for the measurement of poverty, she told him that the group had met four times in 2011, three times in 2012 and twice in 2013.  Membership comprised:
