Alignment ‘front runners’

The Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, Phil Hogan informed Brian Stanley (SF, Laois Offaly) of the progress of the alignment process (Dail Eirann, Debates, 13th June 2013, 392).   The minister told him that he expected the pilot socio-economic committees to be established in ten or ‘frontrunner’ local authorities in the coming weeks, with a full roll-out to commence later in the year.  Guidelines and terms of reference were in preparation and would be available shortly.  They would be developed and refined over the coming months as a result of the learning from the front-runner phase, with the final terms of reverence available for the full roll-out.
