Dormant accounts
The Minister for Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs, Pat Carey, informed Michael D Higgins (Lab, Galway W) of the current financial standing of the Dormant Accounts Fund (Dail Eireann, Debates, 3rd November 2010, 987). Its present value was €62.4m, with €44.4m in the reserve account. The government had approved heads of a Bill to dissolve the Dormant Accounts Board which would be published in the current parliamentary session, after which a new disbursement plan would be presented to the government for approval.
