Funding philanthropy

The Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, Phil Hogan, told Micheal Martin (FF, Cork SC) that  he had provided €1.9m for Philanthropy Ireland for three years, provided that it was matched by philanthropic sources, to support the Giving Campaign and the set up costs of the social innovation fund (Dail Eireann, Debates, 5th December 2013, 15-16).  A further €400,000 was supplied to Fundraising Ireland, on a similar matched basis, to contribute to the professionalization of fundraising.
