Lottery good causes

The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Brendan Howlin, told Mary Lou McDonald (SF, Dublin C) that  under the new lottery licence it was intended that good causes be linked to gross gaming revenues (sales less prizes), which would offer the licensee greater flexibility and scope. The aim was to maximize the annual payment to good causes, which would be determined prior to the launch of the licence competition (Dail Eireann, Debates, 27th March 2013, 209).
