National lottery

The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Brendan Howlin, informed Brian Stanley (SF, Laois Offaly)  that the ‘good causes’ contribution of the national lottery licence would be set at 65% (Dail Eireann, Debates, 20th June 2013, 891).  This was defined at gross gaming revenues less prizes.  He was confident that ‘good causes’ returns would grow from the 2012 total of €225m and that more worthwhile causes funded around the country would be the outcome.  The upfront lottery licence payment would go to the National Children’s Hospital, with some for exchequer capital projects in 2013-4.
